FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does this all work?

DO I NEED TO ACTUALLY SEE YOU FOR A CONSULT?

For any concern that requires physical examination, you will need to see me in person at my office.  I will let you know if I think you will need that.  Otherwise, consultations can be done over the phone, FACETIME, SKYPE or ZOOM video conferencing platforms.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?

I bill a simple fee, $150 per hour of my time working with you and for you.  When additional case review is required or discussion/correspondence with your physicians, I will bill for time spent on this as well.  If you cannot afford my fee, please discuss with me other payment options.

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?

No, I do not take insurance.  However, you may be able to submit your charges for my services to your insurer for reimbursement.

HOW DO I PAY YOU?

You can pay by cash, check, PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo, I take them all.

CAN I GET A SAME-DAY APPOINTMENT?

No, not usually.  If you need urgent care you should see your primary care doctor.  I am here for problems that have been around for a while and need a new perspective and attention.

WILL YOU BE IN TOUCH WITH MY REGULAR DOCTOR?

Yes, if you want me to, I would prefer to.  Your overall care will be better served by more open sharing of information and communication.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY MEDICAL RECORDS?

I have computer access to the major state hospitals in Connecticut: Yale New Haven Hospital, Hartford Hospital, Backus Hospital, and Middlesex Hospital.  For other health systems, you may need to bring paper records.
